Lillio's documentation depth is its strength — which means more steps where things can quietly fail. These fixes cover the bulk of educator complaints.
Daily reports not sending
- Sync first: entries made offline queue on the device — sync the classroom tablet before staff leave. Make it part of the closing routine.
- Check-in mismatch: activities logged against a room the child wasn't checked into can vanish from the family view. Verify attendance status matches reality.
- Draft vs sent: confirm the report was actually published/sent, not saved as draft.
Parents missing photos or notifications
- Profile attachment — is this guardian linked to the child?
- Published vs draft media.
- Device-level notification settings, focus modes, battery savers; then sign out/in and update the app.
Login and account tangles
Reset the password on the exact invited email. Parents with children at two Lillio programs, or staff who are also parents, sometimes end up with conflicting accounts — that's a support merge; ask for consolidation to one login.
Sync & speed on classroom devices
Old shared tablets + big media uploads = the afternoon hang. Clear app cache periodically, keep the app updated, upload on Wi-Fi, and stagger photo posting rather than batch-dumping at 4:55pm.
If the problems are chronic
A platform you fight daily costs more than its subscription â in educator time and parent trust. If renewal pricing, tiered features, or documentation overhead are the real issue (not bugs), look at fit instead: Mitten keeps the daily-report ritual but drafts the writing with AI (included free), parents join by link with no login wall, and pricing is published â free up to 5 children, $20/mo + $2/child after. Here’s the switching playbook, including how to bring your exported documentation with you.
Run your daycare on Mitten — free to start
Mitten does everything in this guide — daily reports, photos, messaging, billing, even payroll prep — free for your first 5 children, then just $20/mo + $2 per child.

- Why didn’t my Lillio daily report send to parents?
- Most often the entries were logged on a device that hadn’t synced (offline edits queue silently), the child wasn’t checked into the room the activity was logged against, or the report was saved as draft rather than sent/published. Sync the room device, verify check-in status, then re-send.
- Why can’t a parent see photos in HiMama/Lillio?
- Check the parent is attached to the child’s profile, that the photo was actually published (not draft), and the parent’s app is updated and logged in. If one guardian sees content and another doesn’t, it’s nearly always profile attachment.
- Lillio login not working — what first?
- Password reset on the exact email the invitation went to, then app update, then sign-out/sign-in. Duplicate accounts from double invitations need a support merge.
